How to: Broccoli - FAQs

How do you cook broccoli?

Broccoli is extremely versatile and can be cooked in various ways, including boiled, baked, fried, steamed and sauteed. One of our favoured methods is boiling, due to the fact it preserves the nutritional value and gives a unique, delicious texture. To bake your broccoli, simply wash the head of broccoli and cut into evenly sized florets. Toss these in olive oil, salt and pepper and lay out on a baking tray. Bake at 200°C (or 180°C for fan assisted) for around 15-20 minutes until tender and slightly crisped. You can optionally sprinkle your florets with Parmesan before serving, for the ultimate side dish.

How long does broccoli boil for?

Usually, it is recommended to boil broccoli for around 2-3 minutes. However, this could be longer or shorter depending on the size of your broccoli florets and your preferred tenderness.

Can you eat broccoli raw?

Yes. It is recommended you eat broccoli raw or lightly cooked.

How do you store broccoli?

Broccoli should be stored in the refrigerator. In order to keep it fresher for longer, it should be stored in a loosely covered or perforated container in order to keep the air circulating throughout.
